Pre-critique taken with my macbook. Better pictures soon to follow...but you get the gist of what I'm about.

Bacon! nom nom nom
So Leah got me this Francis Bacon book for my birthday and the more I read it, the more obsessed I become with the ridiculousness of it all. There are very few things that I can honestly say I like more than the paintings of a drunk old gay english man. Done.

Bacon.

I mean:

Duh.
Of course, the most important one--the painting that started it all--has to be The Human Body, 1982-4 which strikes an uncanny resemblance (most likely solely influenced by and based on) Hans Bellmer's, Doll, 1936, cast in 1965. You be the judge...either way...still ridiculously awesome.

Bellmer.

Oldie but Goodie
Studios are being cleared/cleaned right now so I have no time to photograph new work. Luckily, I will always have old work. This drawing is from freshman year, but its still rather applicable today. Riding elephants in lobbies is an old pastime of mine. Tradition was never my forte.

Old Thangs.
Herro,
il balcone
albero
Almost one year ago I studied landscape painting in this place called Tuscany. Maybe you've heard of it? Nice place. If I had money, I would be back there again this summer...but I don't. These are my memories of one of the best personal and artistic experiences I've had to date.
This Blog.
This blog should have been created last semester for professor Hugh O'Donnell's contemporary issues class. I, however, chose to make a power point slideshow instead. Then, I decided this would be a better way to go. So here is is: a blog about art. A blart.
