drawing-a-day

For the start of the New Year, I will be doing a drawing a day until I stop doing a drawing a day.  Let's pretend I started on the 1st even though it's the 2nd (well, technically the 3rd since it is 2:15 am.)  These drawings will incorporate random elements of life, all be inspired by titles or phrases, and suggestions of titles or phrases are welcomed and encouraged (give me the phrase and I will make the drawing). Ciaooooooo!

Such a sweet creature to smile like that:

Bacon! nom nom nom

So Leah got me this Francis Bacon book for my birthday and the more I read it, the more obsessed I become with the ridiculousness of it all.  There are very few things that I can honestly say I like more than the paintings of a drunk old gay english man. Done.

I mean:

 Duh.

Of course, the most important one--the painting that started it all--has to be The Human Body, 1982-4 which strikes an uncanny resemblance (most likely solely influenced by and based on) Hans Bellmer's, Doll, 1936, cast in 1965.  You be the judge...either way...still ridiculously awesome.

Bacon.

Bellmer.
